Previous tutoring experience: high school-level chemistry and maths (algebra/calculus); college-level general chemistry; organic chemistry. TA experience: General Chemistry 1 (CHMY 141 at MSU), Introduction to Chemistry (CHMY 121 at MSU), and Introduction to Biochemistry (BCH 380 at MSU). 2080 on SAT. AP scores: Chemistry - 4. Calculus AB - 5. Language - 5. Teaching became a passion as soon as I settled into the role in fall 2013, and I've found that as fulfilling as teaching to a classroom is, I connect with students much better in a more personal, one-on-one or small group setting. Now that I'm not teaching labs (I grade for a lecture professor now), I miss working with students during my office hours. Tutoring is enjoyable for me, and I try to make it as painless for my students as I can. I've taken several graduate-level classes in biochemistry at MSU as part of my degree, so biochemistry is my personal favorite subject to tutor and teach, but I find that I learn best by teaching. Since I have teaching experience in all levels of general chemistry, some organic chemistry, and three years teaching biochemistry on top of focusing on the field in my graduate and undergraduate studies, I'm well-equipped to tutor in all high school and college chemistry classes.
